 140160 g Green / Brown Lentils
 120160 g Peeled carrots

Before cooking the soup, the lentils are soaked in cold water for several hours or overnight so that they can be easily and quickly cleaned.

Then we grind the swollen grains in a container with water by hand - we take them in the palm of our hand and, squeezing, three together. Then we add more water and merge it (preferably through a sieve) with the separated brown peel. So repeat several times.

Pour the prepared lentils into a pot for cooking soup with cold or hot water. Water will need 1-1.2 liters. Bring the water to a boil.

Cut celery into thin slices.

Add chopped celery to the pan with lentils.

We prepare carrots for soup. Cut it in half in length, then each half into two parts, if the carrots are large. Cut the resulting cubes into thin slices, add to the soup.

Cut tomatoes, add to soup.

Salt and cook lentil soup after boiling for several minutes (until the tomatoes are soft). Spices are added as desired.

Before eating, add lemon juice to the pot with soup, mix and pour in portions. Garnish with cilantro. There is another option: each squeezes a slice of lemon directly into its plate.
